Free smoke alarms and combination smoke/carbon monoxide alarms

The Wayland Fire Department has free smoke alarms and combination smoke/carbon monoxide alarms available for residents of Wayland Township. To schedule installation for the free alarms, please contact Firefighter Ryan Penny at 269-509-1703 or rpenny@cityofwayland.org. 

City of Wayland fire dept. seeking on call firefighters

The fire department is seeking residents of Wayland Township who would like to serve their community as a paid-on-call firefighter.  No experience is necessary, and all training and equipment is provided.  Pay is $22 per hour.  Applicants are required to complete a 295-hour fire academy and 70-hour medical fire responder training within 2 years of hire.  For more information or to receive an application, please contact Firefighter Ryan Penny at the phone number or email address listed above.

Souptober 2024 - Christian Neighbors Wayland

Souptober 2024 Please bring your soup/donation to Wayland Township Hall – Anytime during the month of October, during Early Voting or even on Election Day

November 5, 2024.  All soup/donation brought to Wayland Township will be donated to the Wayland Christian Neighbors.

Building & Structure Code - O-09-2022

Ordinance O 092022 adopting 2018 IPMC     –  Ordinance adopting the 2018 edition of the International Property Maintenance Code, regulating and governing the conditions and maintenance of all property, buildings and structures by providing standards to ensure that structures are safe, sanitary and fit for occupation and use; and the condemnation of buildings and structures unfit for human occupancy and use; and the demolition of such existing structures in Wayland Township; to provide sanctions for  violation(s) thereof; and to repeal all Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith.
